Come Behind the Scenes with Us: Preparing for Nouva

We had just finished another project when we began preparing for T&L’s tenth anniversary and the launch of Nouva Experiential Learning & Community Platform.

There was a short window to bring everything together. Our team and Nouvators had commitments to juggle, yet we shared a purpose: to create an experience where people could feel welcomed, discover something new, and connect with one another.

We’d love to take you along as we prepare.

Starting with the space

We started with the space, thinking about how it would feel when you arrived.

We sourced LED screens to share our stories, looked for table runners that matched Nouva, and chose interior décor. We brought in Monstera plants to add a little greenery and warmth.

Comfort mattered too. Mr Fathullah kindly helped us repair and upgrade our air-conditioning, so you can settle in, stay comfortable, and focus on the experience. We are thankful for his help in making the space ready to welcome you.

As these details came together, we imagined the conversations that might happen here—meeting someone for the first time, asking a question, or finding a shared interest.

We wanted you to feel comfortable being part of it.

A table that brings people together

We also planned and ordered the menu. Through T&L, we have learned how food can help people settle in and connect. A meal gives us time to pause, enjoy someone’s company, and continue a conversation.

Working alongside our Nouvators

While preparing the venue, we were also working alongside our Nouvators.

They each had busy schedules, work, and responsibilities of their own. We coordinated with them and supported them in shaping workshops that would bring their knowledge and experience to the community.

We are grateful for the time they made and the thought they put into what they could share. Their willingness to contribute is helping Nouva become a place where we can learn from people who know their craft—and who care about helping others understand it.

Australian and Malaysian Nouvators are coming together for this new chapter, bringing different perspectives to our international learning community. An amazing, kind friend has also joined us as our international MC, helping us welcome you and bring the programme together.

Ten years of T&L

Along the way, we prepared a reminiscence of ten years of T&L.

Revisiting that journey meant looking back at the businesses we built, the people who grew with us, and the lessons that changed how we worked.

Some ideas needed another attempt. Some challenges led us to seek help or learn a new skill. Looking back reminded us how much our growth has depended on people willing to teach, encourage, and work alongside us.

That is the experience we hope to share through Nouva.

Learning as we prepare

Our preparation has been a learning process too. We have been asking questions, making decisions, finding solutions, and coordinating across different schedules. Step by step, the space, workshops, food, stories, and people are coming together.
